I am using XXX v4.1 but TrackerDog still shows me the current version is v4.0?
TrackerDog gets the version and date information from the application. It shows the wrong version number due to the author forgetting to update the version string. You can verify this by tapping the App->Info menu from the Application Launcher, and then tap the [Version] button. You will find that XXX shows v4.0 instead of v4.1.
The only solution is by asking the author to correct this problem.

Will TrackerDog send out my personal information?
TrackerDog only sends the following information to the TrackerDog server for tracking the new version information of each of your installed Palm applications.

No more data will be sent out other than the above information. Also, TrackerDog won't send any personal information to the server. e.g. the HotSync user name, ROM ID. You don't need to worry about whether other people know what applications you have installed.

The TrackerDog installer failed to install the conduit for me.
Due to some unknown reasons, the installer may fail to copy the TrackerDog.dll file into Palm desktop directory. If you find the TrackerDog conduit is not installed correctly, please manually copy the TrackerDog.dll file, which can be found from the downloaded zip file, into your Palm desktop directory, usually it's C:\Program Files\Palm.

After copying the DLL file to the Palm directory, you may have to exit and re-start HotSync manager in order to be able to see the conduit.

Does the TrackerDog conduit work if my PC is behind a firewall?
Yes. TrackerDog supports proxy and authorization proxy. TrackerDog enables you to specify the proxy server name and port number manually. In addition to manually configuration, TrackerDog also support the automatically configuration by getting the proxy settings from the Windows registry. To set your default Internet access, double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, then the Control Panel, and then the Internet tool in the Control Panel. Choose the Connection tab, and complete the dialog box as desired for your setup. If your proxy server needs authorization, please turn on the [Proxy server need authorization] and specify your login name and password on the TrackerDog conduit configuration form.

There is no download or home URL for the application, or the URL is not corrected.
To help you and other people having the corrected URLs, you can help us to specify the download and home URLs for such applications. Please click on the Find Applications link to find the application from the TrackerDog database. If the application shows on the results list, then click on the "Edit ID: XXX" button to fill in the URLs.
The other simple way is for you to send the software authors an email to ask them to maintain the correctness of their products in the TrackerDog database. We open a "Developer Program" (It's free, too) for software authors to do that.

Does the TrackerDog conduit support Mac platform?
The TrackerDog conduit does not support Mac at the current stage. I'd like to support Mac but I am not familiar with the Mac development environment. I am looking for volunteers to do that. If you want to help TrackerDog users to implement the conduit for Mac, please also let me know.

TrackerDog was installed successfully, but it still failed to track the versions when HotSync.
If you found the TrackerDog did not work when you perform a HotSync tracking, please first check the failure reason. It can be found by choosing the [View Log...] menu item of HotSync manager, and then looking for the messages between "--- TrackerDog Start ---" and "--- OK TrackerDog ---". If no "--- TrackerDog Start ---" tag can be found, it means that the TrackerDog conduit was not being invoked when HotSync. It usually caused by either you did not install TrackerDog conduit or TrackerDog was installed on the memory expansion card. All conduit programs should be installed on the main memory. It's Palm's limitation. If it's the case, please move the TrackerDog program back to the main memory.
